RAASK have a beefy looking exhaust system for our Thunderbirds :

Here are two video clip:

Clip 1

Clip 2

General Spec (thanks to Thatch)
- 102 mm / 4" in diameter and have 2 perforated tube inside.
- One are wrapped in fiberglas
- Catalytic box is eliminated
- Weight are about 9-10 kilos / 18-20 pounds
- Tune map is Triumph's stock mapping No. 66 (at this moment in time)

Price:
- Around 545 Euro

If they turn out to be too expensive, you could always look at getting a RAASK Triumph Thunderbird Table Lamp!

[EDIT]
16.10.2009
Price correction with reference from a direct email from Sivert Raask at RAASK
- Was $700.00 changed to 545.00 Euro

Honestly said - I like them too.
With the CAT box eliminated, they're basically the same design as the BC's (British-Customs) pipes!

I think they look high quality (from what we can see) and I like how they have made details at the ends. Not your normal Joe Bloggs cut off - something different!
PLUS - I find the price attractive.

When I think about it - my line of thoughts say:
I paid CHF 675.00 (Swiss Francs) / 450.00 Euro for the OEM Triumph Long TOR's which:
- look EXACTLY the same as the stock pipes
- give better performance (supposedly! Daz can give more input here)
- give a louder throaty sound when under load

For 150.00 Euro more, you can get the RAASK's which:
- look different (better imho)
- eliminate the CAT box, which in turn can only:
= lead to more power
= louder, throaty sound
= cooler running engine (breathing freely)

At the end of the day - in my opinion - I feel that, had I not already have the TOR's installed, I would have gone for these from the selection that are already available!

Do you think they can be fitted with the cats in place?
I do not want to change anything regarding polution but like the look a lot.
Can't I just take the OE pipes off and bolt these on without doing anything else ?

Is 545euro including the Swedish VAT of 25% ?

Sorry to say - but I can't answer any of your questions as I don't know.

I suspect that regarding the CAT issue - it could be possible, but it is know that with the CAT you don't get much better performance (but these pipes are about the looks)
Regarding the TAX:
1) 25% sucks big time!
2) the price is what the guy at RAASK gave me. He also stated that I should add 50.00 Euro for shipping and handling.

I just know that if I would be caught here in Switzerland with the CAT removed, I'd have my license taken away from me for 3 months and a fat fine to pay!
Risky....

I spoke with the Raask importer who spoke with Raask and they are a ways out yet for the T-Bird. The guy is going slow with development because tweaks they found necessary with the R3 pipes that set them back so they are being very cautious this time around. The proposed cost is going to be around $1200 retail. this information as of 10/19/09

looks heavy, more kinks in the exhaust than the alphabet and if it handles as bad as the thruxton on tight twisties im not on the buying list
the raask part of the exhausts though do look neat slimline and tight

Why feel for Alain... that RAASK bike is a turd. Alain is actually building a nice bike, not a cobbled together jumble of mismatched parts.

Hey now, I say when it's over

Every since I first saw that Raask bike I was disappointed in it. Now seeing what Alain is doing with his shows what could of been done from the start ad makes it look that much worse. Sorry, was wearing my opinionated asshole hat when I posted that last one.

Actually this Raask bike was made before I even thought about starting mine.
And mine started 5 months ago (and is still not there)
I definitively hope that I'll beat them on the look.

That rassk bike wouldn't be so bad if they just changed a few things. But the worse offender of inducing looks are those external springs on the forks. Good god, what were they thinking? Maybe something like this...."hey vern, i hate to just throw these old broken shocks away. Any idea how we could make use of em?"

Has anyone ever seen what our bikes look like with the Raask 2-1 exhaust? The idea is kind of cool, but does it make the bike look lame like most Harleys with muffler(s) on one side only??

Ok, I finally got around to ask Raask and was disappointed to find out that they don't make the 2-1 system anymore and the ones they made are sold out. Why discontinue a product that sells out?

Anyway the normal 2 muffler system costs 600 euros plus shipping to Helsinki. I guess I'll stick to the short TORs I have know?!?!?!

Sadly I think you are right. I've thought on this issue for a while and just can't come up with something that would work. I love a single sided exhaust but the fact of the matter is the bird is pretty damn ugly at the swing arm and while you might could have a 2 into one or even a single sided 2 into 2 that might look good, the other side of the bike is going to look like crap. The bike needs the exhaust to mask that area.
